Laughter Yoga reduces stress and is a quick recharge mechanism, which helps revive the energy levels, performance, attention span, thereby leading to a better efficiency and higher output.
2. Business Benefits and elevates creativity
Our brain needs 25 percent more oxygen for optimal functioning. Laughter exercises can increase net supply of oxygen to our body and brain which helps to improve efficiency and performance. Laughter Yoga is a great tool for innovation and creativity as it stimulates the right brain which is the seat of creativity.
3. Social Connector
“People who laugh together work together successfully.” Laughter Yoga is a powerful tool that connects people. It helps to develop a positive mental attitude and enhances communication skills.
How does it work?
Laughter Yoga combines breathing and laughter exercises which oxygenate body and brain and make one feel more healthy and energetic.
Our breath is the essence of our life and the key component of breath is Oxygen. Due to stress and negative emotions breathing becomes shallow and irregular. Laughter Yoga helps to breathe deeply (diaphragm laughter) and brings more Oxygen to the body and brain and one feels more healthy and energetic.
During a Laughter Yoga session we initiate laughter as an exercise in a group and with eye contact and childlike playfulness, it soon turns into real and contagious laughter.
Scientific studies show that the body cannot differentiate between real laughter and simulated laughter. One gets the same health benefits, whether laughter is real or simulated. The slogan applies to Laughter Yoga: “Fake it until you make it”.
Laughter Yoga is a unique concept where anyone can laugh for no reason without relying on humor, jokes or comedy.
Laughter Yoga was started by Dr. Madan Kataria, a medical doctor from Mumbai, India. The concept quickly gained popularity and today there are thousands of Laughter Yoga clubs in over 100 countries. Laughter Yoga is conducted in corporate organizations, old-age homes, universities, schools, fitness studios, jails, social clubs.

More on Laughter Yoga pracitice:
Laughter should be sustained over 15 to 25 minutes. Prolonged laughter brings measurable physiological changes like increasing the oxygen level in the blood, muscle relaxation, blood circulation and release of certain happiness hormones in the body.
Laughter should be deep. To reap the health benefits of laughter, laughter has to be hearty and deep, coming from the diaphragm - a true belly laugh.
Laughter should be unconditional. Natural laughter that courses through our life depends upon many reasons and conditions, and we cannot wait to find a reason to laugh. In Laughter Yoga laughter is unconditional and we laugh for no reason.
